Back on track and my mind is all over the place

Yesterday was my weigh in day and normal blog posting day. Hey look at least I'm getting this out weekly instead of once in a blue moon. I'm trying here lol. Anyway, I stepped on the scale and I am back on track after eating crappy on my birthday. Let me tell you I am not doing a cheat day anymore it's too difficult on the Keto diet. My body has been trying to get back on track meaning I've been in the bathroom for pooping at least 4 – 5 times a day. Needless to say I don't want to go through that again so I'll stick with not having an occasional cheat day. Unfortunately, I've found out that this diet is not cheat day friendly, this is not to say you can't have the occasional piece of cake or something but please be aware of your carb intake when having said cake. Make sure you have the carbs to eat it. I don't really have much else to chat about this week as far as my diet goes. I need to prepare some recipes to have for future posts, if you have...

My birthday weekend was awesome!

Good day my friends. Today is weigh in day and I have gained 2 pounds but I don't mind because it was my birthday this weekend and I wanted cake! I am proud of myself for only having one piece of a small cake we bought at Kroger. It was tasty and lovely, #worth. Seriously though I know I can lose it again I just have to get back into Ketosis and that usually takes a couple of days so next week should be a better week for me! I had a lovely week though especially the weekend; we went kayaking Saturday with friends and it was so fun. I've never been Kayaking and that's what I wanted to do and it was so fun I want a kayak! Too bad I have no where to keep one. After kayaking we went to this Greek restaurant with some other friends who were unable to join us down the river and holy cow such good food. Basically I ate a lot this weekend so I'd say a two pound weight gain is not so bad! I don't really have much of an update on that front but I do have an update for ...

Not the best week but also not the worst.

Good morning! So I realize today is Thursday not Wednesday but to be frank I completely forgot to write up a blog yesterday. I was a little discouraged yesterday morning because I'd gained weight but looking at the grand scale, I gained less than a pound and I had seafood the previous night for dinner and it always makes me bloat a little bit. I'd say all in all I maintained considering Sunday I had chinese for dinner which is NOT Keto. One thing I have to say about Sunday's dinner, I did not enjoy it quite as much as I usually enjoy chinese. I feel my taste buds are changing significantly on this diet especially when it comes to foods with added sugar. The toughest part about this is not avoiding the added sugars its avoiding the foods that turn into sugars like potatoes, breads, pasta, and other high starch foods. One of my favorite foods is a nice big sandwich. I love adding all the veggies like tomato, lettuce, spinach, etc with my meat and cheese and that's simpl...

Weigh in day and a requested recipe!

As I sit here eating my wrap I'm smiling to myself because Wednesdays are my weigh in days and guess what? I am finally under 280 lbs again! I know that's still too much but it's the small goals that matter. For those of you that don't know my most recent history I was diagnosed in 2016 with clinical/major depression and prescribed Lexapro and I ended up gaining 30 lbs in 2017 because of the meds. Since realizing that I struggle with this and its not all in my head er, I mean it's not me just making stuff up, it's been easier to combat it. The Lexapro has helped stabilize me but it doesn't stop me from being sad, it doesn't get rid of the depression like so many people think these medicines do. With medicine and therapy I have been able to build healthy coping skills, some of them I naturally created as a teenager just because I was trying to deal with it back then I just didn't realize what it was at the time.
