Veterans' Day

As a family member of an active duty military person I can tell you that it is a hard life. My brother is in the U.S. Airforce and he hasn’t been deployed yet but its still tough. I miss him every day of my life. Him and I are very close and I’m so thankful for that. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful little brother. He is my only sibling and I wouldn’t ask for anymore. I remember when he was born, I was so excited. My parents didn’t want to find out what the gender of the baby was so when he was born it was a surprise! His first deployment is coming up and due to the face he's active duty I am respectfully leaving his name out of my blog but I just wanted to take the time to thank him.  Thank you little brother for being there for me. Thank you for taking a job that leads to my freedom as a U.S citizen. I know that you have always wanted to be in the Airforce but I also know that it takes a strong heart to be in the military especially voluntarily. You are an amazing ...

My first 5k

Hello my fellow readers and bloggers!! I know you are all excited to find out how my first 5k was. Well, it was an experience and I can’t wait to do another one. I actually had quite a crazy time last night. First off my running partner (who’s name is also Ashley but we’ll call her B so no one gets confused) and I were supposed to meet up at Lenox Square Mall. That got taken out because 400 south was backed up due to a fatality so I called her and said just meet at the location so as not to get there too late. I’m one of those people that are early, or I try to be, all the time. Its just been ingrained in me from years of band practice and ball practice, “To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, to be late is to be left.” I don’t like being left behind, I like to know what’s going on especially when its my first time doing something. My husband met us there because he had to work but his truck decided to stop shifting into 1st and 5th gears after he got on the road ...
